President’s
Message
Greetings to Chapter
3001 Members,
I am looking forward to
serving you as president for the next year. With the
help of our Board of Directors, we have put together an
exciting year of activities. I sincerely hope that
you can attend all of the programs, and please bring a
friend - or two. Please note that anyone can attend
our activities; they do not have to be a member of
the chapter. Please extend an open invitation to
those you work with and those in other departments.
We have never named our
chapter and I would like to propose the name - 'The
Granite Chapter'. I am putting forth an
informal survey for this and would like to hear from the
members. Let’s make this the year we name our chapter!
I am looking forward to
seeing you at the 2nd Annual Crazy Car Rally October 8,
2005. This is a fun morning to spend with your
family and friends exploring the back roads of NH and
VT. Last year’s attendees all agreed that they
had a great time. I know that Ruth Sedgwick and her
committee are putting together another fun rally.
Respectfully,
Eva

HURRICANE KATRINA
What can we do to help?
During the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, AORN
members in the affected and surrounding areas
have continued to work tirelessly to care for
their patients, to rebuild their facilities and
and to step in and take over the patient care
needs of those facilities devastated by the
disaster.
AORN chapters and state
councils have requested from AORN direct ways to
help their AORN collegues. To facilitate this
assistance, AORN is establishing and
"Adopt-a-Facility" program.
A chapter or state council can request to adopt
a facility and provide much needed supplies or
support directly to the facility. Communication
will be established between the chapter/state
council
and a volunteer at the facility, who will
provide information on specific needs or areas
of support.
Let’s discuss
this at the next meeting.
